So last Sunday the VBS team of leaders met to plan the recruitment event scheduled for later this month. Discussion of each days snacks for the children came up. Day five from our curriculum was not acceptable so we brainstormed about another snack relating to the lesson about all of us having "Faith on fire." One team member begins describing an idea using ranch dressing as a dip and baby carrots and cheetos as the "fire." She explains that each child would be served the ranch dressing in a jello shot container and then receive the carrots and cheetos. So I am sitting there thinking that she means that the snack leaders will make jello, pour it into the small plastic cups used at grocery stores for food demos. When set, they will add ranch dressing on top and then the rest. The room exploded in laughter when this lady (me) who is old enough to be most (not all) of their mothers brought this up. Obviously, I didn't know what a jello shot was........but I do now!
