When I created this blog almost two years ago, I titled it Gigi's Stories. The subtitle added "Endearing stories about our grandchildren and a few tales about our children." I never really took to writing in a diary as a child or teenager. Perhaps that was because I don't really enjoy writing. English was one of my least favorite classes. (And at this point I apologize ahead of time for improper grammar, verbiage and sentence structure.)
And with my job, I have to write a lot for communicating - mostly in the church newsletter, worship guide, curriculum, emails, etc. So the fact that I even have a blog is rather humorous at best. But grandparenthood changes people, I think.
The past two months have given me cause to re-group (or at least try to change) and to be more faithful to writing about the people that I love. I may throw in a few philosophical things occasionally but I'll try not to use the blog as a soap box.
So my intention for this blog was to record experiences, thoughts, funny stories and wonderful words from both our grandchildren and our son and daughter. For posterity I guess.
Last night we met our "cow town" kids in Waco for dinner. We brought Sarah and AG home with us for the night. AG loves jewelry. I have a new silver charm bracelet that was my Christmas present from Tom. It is the most perfect gift as it is a bracelet with heart links. There are 4 silver charm letters dangling from it. A "K" for Kyle, an "A" for Anna Grace, a "W" for Wade and a "P" for Paige. I was explaining this to AG. After talking about Paige, I said, "And right here next to the "P" there is a spot for the first letter of your new baby's name." She replied, "The new baby?" Looooooong pause. (You could almost see the wheels turning in her litte brain.) She bends her head to the side and says, "I don't think the baby wants to be on the bracelet." Hmmmmmmmmmm = )
